Comedian Nikki Glaser hosted the Golden Globes show on Sunday evening, where she made a searing point about how, at this point in the program, none of the winners had given thanks to God for blessing them with the award. Giving thanks to God for giving gifts and talents that have been cultivated to such levels of excellence as to be recognized used to be the norm. My, how things have changed over the years, and not in a good way.
“So much has already happened in the first half, and the acceptance speeches have been on fire. Who got shouted out the most? Let’s look at the numbers,” Glaser went on to say as the screen in the venue then turned into a scoreboard. The comedian then gestured toward the scoreboard which provided a count of who had been given thanks and who hadn’t during award acceptance speeches.
“All right, cast and crew are leading the way with 11 mentions,” Glaser went on to say to the assembled celebrities. “Moms are holding strong with three shoutouts. God, creator of the universe, with zero mentions.” The audience burst into laughing as the host then said, “Mario Lopez, host of ‘Access Hollywood,’ one.”
“No surprise in this godless town,” Glaser stated in deadpanned.

The 40-year-old stand-up comedian is being praised for her performance, particularly for the way she poked fun at some of the Hollywood A-listers in the audience.
“I am not here to roast you tonight,” Glaser said to the actors, directors, and producers in the crowd during her opening monologue. “I want you to know that. How could I, really? You are all so famous. So talented.”
“So powerful,” she added “I mean you could really do anything. I mean except tell the country who to vote for. But it’s okay, you will get them next time. If there is one. I’m scared.”
The night was replete with jokes made about disgraced rap artist Sean “Diddy” Combs, Ozempic, and various other topics, including how celebrities basically caused President-elect Donald Trump to get re-elected to office through supporting Vice President Kamala Harris.
“[‘Challengers’] was more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card,” the comedian remarked during the opening speech. “I know… I’m upset, too. The after-party isn’t going to be as good this year, but we have to move on.” Glaser then wisecracked, “Stanley Tucci freak-off doesn’t have the same ring to it,” adding, “No baby oil this year, just lots of olive oil.”
Once upon a time, Hollywood was much more moral than it is today. Unfortunately, progressivism has infected the entertainment industry to such a level it has killed off the influence of the Christian faith that once permeated its products. We now have filmmakers pushing a godless system of ideology on those who consume their films and television shows.
Let us hope for revival on the streets and in the studios of Hollywood.
