Actor Chris Pratt, most well known for playing leading roles in “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Jurassic World,” has never been shy about sharing his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He tries to practice what he preaches too, which is why he has become one of the most popular leading men in Hollywood and a beloved figure in our culture. On Wednesday morning, Pratt once again provided folks inside and outside of the entertainment industry with how a believer in Jesus Christ is to live out their faith through service to their neighbors.
In light of the wildfires tearing through Los Angeles, Pratt got on social media platform X, asking for fellow Christians to send up prayers on behalf of the firefighters out there risking their lives to fight the flames and save people. His post read, “Join me in praying for the brave firefighters sacrificing so much to save our houses and our town. Jesus protect the lives of those battling the flames and the lives of those who couldn’t evacuate. #PalisadesFire.”
It wasn’t long after creating this post that Pratt made another one, which said, “Please send prayers and strength tonight to everyone in Los Angeles affected by these devastating fires. Los Angeles is in a state of emergency and over 30,000 have been ordered to evacuate. Thank you to the brave firefighters and first responders who are working tirelessly to protect lives, homes, and wildlife as they battle fast-moving wildfire fueled by fierce winds. You are true heroes, and we are endlessly grateful for your sacrifice and courage. Let’s all come together to support one another during this tough time. #ThankYouFirstResponders.”
You can check out more about the wildfires via Breitbart:
As Breitbart News reported, the fast-burning wildfire that broke out in the mountains above Pacific Palisades amid extreme high winds on Tuesday morning threatened homes and the local public school, which was evacuated. California firefighters are now prepared for the wildfire situation to worsen early Wednesday. Flames were being pushed by fierce Santa Ana winds topping 60 mph in some places. The winds were expected to increase overnight, producing isolated gusts that could top 100 mph in mountains and foothills — including in areas that haven’t seen substantial rain in months.
It’s being reported that over 1,000 structures have suffered damage, the vast majority being homes. I can’t imagine how hard it’s going to be for those who lost their homes and with them, the memories made with children and other relatives. However, God is good. He can take even the worst of circumstances and flip around for good.

The church will need to step up and truly be the hands and feet of Jesus in California. When it comes to people in need, you can guarantee that no one else gives more than the church does. And hopefully, through that, people will turn their lives to Christ.
