Without a doubt, one of the most important days in a person’s life is their wedding day. Everyone dreams of making the occasion special, of having the perfect day, and part of that is ensuring that you look your absolute best before, during, and after the ceremony. And that, of course, means losing weight. I know, I almost lost you right there. Dieting is a swear word in some people’s vocabulary. That’s understandable given the fact that modern-day dieting is a nightmare. Giving up tasty things you love to eat and literally sweating your backside off is not fun.
However, when you’re as determined as a couple from New York was about getting into shape before tying the knot, there’s no amount of success that’s out of reach.
The groom in this story, Ronnie Brower, was tipping the scales at 675 pounds when he made a decision to change his life and become healthy. Brower felt he didn’t have control over his life and he wanted that, so he stopped making excuses and started hitting the gym and changed his diet. And that’s just the beginning of his story, folks.
During the four years it took him to drop 458 pounds, a fellow gym-goer by the name of Andrea Masella, who had a similar goal of extreme weight loss, began to notice him. Their shared goal of losing weight and becoming healthy people led to the couple forming a bond which Ronnie’s personal trainer, Nick Murphy, calls a “match made in heaven.”

Here’s more from FaithIt:
Along the way, Ronnie also gave his life to Christ, and was baptized by Nick Murphy three years ago in the Christian church where the couple tied the knot this past Saturday.
After now shedding a staggering 578 pounds combined, the healthy, happy, new and improved couple says they plan to continue supporting each other through life, and even begin to counsel others on their own weight loss transformation.
Andrea hopes they can be an inspiration to others who feel like they’re literally stuck in their own skin, because both of them have been there.
“People come to me all the time, asking for weight-loss advice,” Ronnie went on to say. “I just tell them there’s hope out there. If you want it bad enough and put your mind to it, anybody can do it.”
The truly beautiful part of all this is how they are not only healthy people who have changed their lives in a physical sense, but they have also taken the steps to see transformation on the inside too. We are commanded to take care of ourselves in order that we might be able to serve and love our neighbors. It’s difficult to be the hands and feet of Jesus when you’re extremely overweight and feel awful.
This couple’s story shows that it’s more than possible to be disciplined enough to stick to a workout routine and eat healthy, without trying to fool people into thinking they can achieve these kind of goals while not making sacrifices. You definitely have to make sacrifices, but the return on investment is well worth the price.
