A woman from Texas who goes by the name Nanny is going viral online after her great-grandson created a TikTok account just for her. And there’s a really good reason for doing so. The young man’s great grandmother is becoming an internet sensation due to her extremely refreshing take about death in a series of wholesome videos that will be like a bowl of chicken soup for your soul.
You guys remember those books? Man, the 1990s were a pretty good time, weren’t they? Never thought I’d miss those days. Enough commiserating. Let’s get back to Nanny.
The account, Nannyfayeandme, features a woman who has unwittingly become a social media influencer who is at least 8 decades older than others who are making a name for themselves in the same field. Her name is Nanny Faye, hailing from the Lone Star State, and she was born back in 1925. Yes, that’s right, ladies and gentlemen. Nanny Faye is almost a century old.
Her account currently has more than 215,000 followers with over 1.7 million likes, shooting her into the stratosphere of internet stardom.

In fact, in a recent nannyfayeandme video, the great grandma goes viral when TikTok user posted a message saying “I’m scare of dying and can’t help it. Can you ask her if she is and how to help with that? She’s sweet!” and the grandson recorded Nanny responding to the question.

Nanny’s immediate response is almost like astonishment, as she says, “Noooo! Why should I be scared? Honey, what’s there to be scared of.”
Continuing on about why she has no reason to be scared, the great grandma goes viral saying, “This [life] is just a little interim time. It’s a blip. It really is not going to amount to a hill of beans.” And as Nanny explains, when our souls live for all of eternity, the span of a human life is relatively insignificant.
Having lived nearly 100 years, Nanny knows what it’s like to struggle and what it’s like to want a good life, but she has a realistic view of life, knowing that in life there will be trouble, as Jesus says.
“When we want perfection here, we’ll never, never, never get it,” Nanny goes on to say.
Nanny then stated that she’s really looking forward to getting to heaven, calling it a place of perfection, noting God will fulfill all our hopes and our needs. Boy, if that doesn’t provide you with some comfort, you must have your heart turned off.
The sweet Texas great-grandmother then tells the audience, “There is going to be perfection. Everything’s going to be lovely. No sickness, no sorrow, no…people out of work, no trouble in any direction.”
She adds, “There’s not going to be any of that stuff that worries the tar out of us here.”
One of her viewers left a comment saying, “I’m a cancer survivor. It told people it’s a win-win either I get healed or I get to see Jesus!”
Another commented, “I believe this too but hearing her tell it…brings so much peace about my daughter who passed at 21, 8 years ago.”
This is only one of the videos on her TikTok that has managed to provide a much needed dose of comfort for folks. Many of the posts on the account show Nanny just living life on a daily basis. One particular clip shows her healing up after being ill.
@nannyfayeandme I got to spend the day with Nanny! She is still in pain but feels better than she did!
Another video clip she’s opening a present given to her by her family. She wisecracks, “Is it dead?”

The present turned out to be an outfit for a baby boy, which is exactly what her new great-great-grandson is going to be. The family cheers and roars with laughter as Nanny responds, “I didn’t know I was pregnant!”
She also discusses her early marriage to her husband, sharing an intimate look into her own history.

One of the things Nanny noted about her husband was how he always “took everything in stride.”
A hilarious video featuring Nanny and her grandson playing with TikTok filters is also worth a watch.

This is what is missing from much of the world. The older generation tends to get written off as old fashioned, as if they have nothing of value to offer to the world because of the arrogance of the young who think they are out of touch. And we all thought that about those who were before us. But the truth of the matter is, we live in a world that has lost touch with itself. We, as a people, have forgotten our identity.
The powers that be who promised us they would take care of us and have all the answers have failed us miserably, leaving younger generations wandering lost in the wilderness. It’s folks like Nanny who are leading us back to the path. God bless this woman.
