Democratic presidential nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris, was delivering a speech at a rather prominent, historically black church in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania when she was interrupted by a heckler. Last Sunday, Harris was giving an address to a seemingly supportive crowd who showed up at The Church of Christian Compassion of Philadelphia, making a reference to St. Paul of Tarsus — the writer of most of the New Testament — during her comments.
“The Apostle Paul wrote about the power we possess, the power of the people. He wrote that God is able to do more than we ask or think, according to His power that is at work in us,” Harris said during the speech, alluding to Ephesians 3:20. “And Paul speaks of this power from experience. In his life, he faced every kind of test and trial imaginable: shipwreck, persecution, prison. And in every instance, he saw divine intervention.”
While Harris began to speak about “justice” for “all of God’s children,” going on to refer to the current election as a “moment that will define the very character of our nation” and how the country is facing “real challenges,”there was some sort of commotion going on among the members of the congregation.
The heckling grew louder. Music started playing in the background and the mysterious heckler was eventually drowned out by other people yelling and shouting in response to the noise. Harris took a break and waited until things were under control once again, before saying, “That’s why we fight for our democracy. Every voice is important; every voice is important.”
Unless you’re a Christian who supports Trump of course.

Harris continued with her remarks, adding that “we carry real burdens” and, “like Paul, we must remember that divine power works through our actions.”
“We have the power to move past division, fear and chaos,” she told those gathered. “It is in and within our power to fulfill the promise of America, the promise to create opportunity for every child.”
The church’s video feed doesn’t show the heckler or hecklers who protested, with the camera staying on Harris during the commotion. The Christian Post reached out to The Church of Christian Compassion for more information on the heckler and what the person said, however a spokesperson replied that the church did not have such information.
At the end of the day, this incident goes to show that just because a place is majority black does not mean every member of the black community is on board with the Democratic Party. More and more minorities have been shaking themselves awake and seeing reality. The left uses them as political pawns, promising to improve their situation and then doing nothing to make good on those promises. Here’s to hoping people of faith show up at the polls and ensure Harris isn’t staying in the White House come January.
