Actor Kirk Cameron has written a new children’s book called “Pride Comes Before The Fall,” and was released in June, coinciding with what LGBT activists refer to as “pride month.” The book aims to teach children the value of living humbly and avoiding pride.
In an interview with The Christian Post, Cameron explained that the book centers around two main characters, an elephant named Kevin and a zebra-like cat creature named Valor. The two animals team up to compete in a canoeing race against other groups of animals, each seeking to reach the finish line.
At the beginning of the story, Valor is displeased about being paired with Kevin for the race. He had wanted to team up with someone else, but all the other animals had already formed partnerships. Throughout the book, Valor displays prideful behavior, believing he is more talented and doesn’t need Kevin’s help to win the race.
As the story unfolds, Valor learns the importance of humility in life. He eventually humbles himself and works together with Kevin to finish the race. Cameron stated that the book is meant to teach kids about the significance of humility, especially in a time when society promotes pride.
The release of the book during June, known as pride month, was a deliberate decision. Cameron emphasized that his book’s focus on humility contrasts with the celebration of pride during this month, as he believes humility is a crucial virtue for children to learn.

Cameron expressed that writing the book was a humbling experience for him personally, having struggled with pride in the past. He believes that pride is the root of many other sins, and his book aims to encourage children to prioritize humility and consider others’ needs.

Trent Talbot, CEO of Brave Publishing Co., the conservative publishing company behind Cameron’s book, supported the messages and lessons the book conveys. He acknowledged that pride is a common struggle for both children and adults and emphasized the importance of reminding children about the dangers of pride.
I know that this article is late, for Pride Month is now over, but it’s still good to know that there are children’s books out there that are good for the soul.
