Tim Busfield was Melissa Gilbert’s soulmate, and they got married. Here’s a strange story about how they met.

We know this well-liked actress from her time on “Little House on the Prairie,” when she played Laura Ingalls. In 200 episodes of being a farmer’s daughter and looking at life through her experiences, mishaps, and point of view, she won our hearts. I, for one, think the show needs a new start or a spin-off.

Back to Melissa, at the age of 57, she has “found the one whom her soul loves.” After two failed marriages and a lot of self-reflection, healing, and soul-searching, Melissa praises and thanks the good Lord, who happens to be the best matchmaker on earth.

Tim Busfield and Melissa Gilbert got together in the strangest way, which led to their marriage. Keep reading to find out more.

Melissa was at a restaurant that is usually empty most nights, but they serve pizza, which is the best comfort food in town. She went to the restaurant by herself one night. Melissa’s heart, like every other heart, longed for love. In the arms of her Heavenly Father, she found comfort as He fixed her broken heart after two failed marriages. Still, she was in the mood for good food and maybe a lively atmosphere that night. Melissa did find good food, but she didn’t find the atmosphere.

Even though it was late, the restaurant was quiet and empty. She didn’t go anywhere else. Instead, she ate her food and enjoyed the quiet. Timothy Busfield went back to the same restaurant to eat because he knew there wouldn’t be any fans or paparazzi there.

Who else can guess where this story is going? Do you see how God was starting to connect their lives? Almost like God is saying, “I’ve repaired your hearts, I’ve healed your wounds. I’ve even taken the time to give you the life experiences and wisdom to truly understand relationships. Now…standing before you is your life partner. Take what I’ve given you and embrace it fully. The good, the bad, and the behind the scenes.”

Timothy says this when he thinks about the first time he met Melissa:  “My first thought was, ‘I haven’t been on a date in 6 months, I’m just working and not dating, I really don’t want to date anyone right now.’ So I sort of talked to myself for a moment, and then I went in, sat at the bar, and ordered a drink. Then I saw her smile and I was gone.”

Tim Busfield and Melissa Gilbert got married in less than a year after they met. Melissa says, “I’m married to an incredibly creative man, who manages to continually create jobs for me. My favorite thing in the world to do is work together.”

Can you picture yourself working and living with your soul mate? We think it can’t be easy, but Melissa and the love of her life make it look beautiful and inspiring. She found her real “Mr. Wilder” at last. in the real world.

Scarcely had I passed them when I found him whom my soul loves. I held him, and would not let him go until I had brought him into my mother’s house, and into the chamber of her who conceived me,” Song of Solomon 3:4
