Mr. T, most well known for his role in the popular 1980s television series “The A Team” and for playing Clubber Lang in “Rocky 3” recently did an interview on the Trinity Broadcasting Network where he spoke at length about the gospel of Jesus Christ and the grace of God, going on to explain how the Lord calls people to Himself and that those who receive that call are then saved from their sins and the wrath of God those sins have earned. He then pointed out the gospel call is for all people, not just one small group of people.
While chatting about the gospel, Mr. T quoted Romans 10:1, which says, “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” He went on to add, “You can’t help but realize this is an unlimited invitation. This invitation is most uncommon and most unusual because this invitation means that any man, every man and all men are welcome. This invitation means whosoever will, let them come.”
According to The Christian Tribune, the actor then dug deep into how the call to come to Christ for salvation is meant for all people, not just some and not based on arbitrary standards like race or ethnicity, saying, “The most important thing you notice is that God is not a segregationist. If any man, any man [desires]. Jesus the great inviter calls for all men to come to him. The rich, the poor and the ugly.” He added, “Jesus said ‘come.’” He added,. “There’s a kind of totality in this [invitation]. If any man, there’s a kind of Christian outreach within the ministry of our Jesus Christ.” He also explained, “You can’t out-sin God’s love!”
Here’s more from the report:
Further, explaining how Christianity saved him from a life of crime that would have surely ended in prison, he said, “I got to have God. See, I think about what I’ve been through being in this world and whatnot; if I didn’t have God, I wouldn’t be here. I’d be in prison. I’d be going off on people and stuff like that with people following me and taking pictures of me to get dirt on me.”
