There are only a handful of legendary coaches in the history of the NFL who have had the kind of success and level of respect that Tony Dungy has enjoyed throughout his career both on and off the field. He’s been a Super Bowl champ both as player and coach, as well as a member of the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team. Impressive, right?
But that’s not all. Ever since stepping away from the sport in 2008, Dungy, 68, has been serving as an example to many for boldly proclaiming the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. He’s not shy about talking about the Lord and the influence and growth he has experienced as a Christian over the years. It’s actually quite possible the vast majority of folks who know of Dungy today do so through his public declarations of faith than they do his highly decorated football career.
The latest example of his boldness for Jesus comes from his takedown of Vice President Kamala Harris’s comments about faith, where he used Sacred Scripture to dismantle her statement to the glory of God. On Thursday, Harris got on social media platform X to talk about the only real political issue she knows anything about: abortion. She’s super passionate about the murder of unborn children, which is both sickening and sad.
“One does not have to abandon their faith or deeply held beliefs to agree: The government, and certainly Donald Trump, should not be telling a woman what to do with her body,” Harris said in a post on X.

Harris was responding to a common criticism of pro-abortion Democrats that they’re not beholden to any sort of religious faith. The vice president’s counter-claims did not sit well with the unabashedly pro-life Dungy.
Dear VP Harris: I hear you make this statement all the time. Exactly what “faith” are you talking about when you say you don’t have to abandon it to support abortion? Are you talking about the Christian faith that says all babies are made in the image of God (Gen 1:26), that God… https://t.co/Lo7v8V4wRm

That comment from Dungy would’ve stung enough on its own, but Dungy came prepared with excerpts from the Bible to truly torpedo Harris’ claims.
“Are you talking about the Christian faith that says all babies are made in the image of God (Gen 1:26), that God places them in the womb (Jer 1:5) and that we should not take any life unjustly (Luke 18:20)?” Dungy went on to ask the Democratic Party nominee.
Dungy, who was truly perturbed by the comment, went a bit further, putting Harris’ “faith” on blast, calling it “nebulous” and rule-less.
“Are you talking about that faith or some nebulous, general ‘faith’ that says we’re good enough, and smart enough to make our own decisions?” Dungy asked Harris. “What ‘faith’ are you talking about?”
And as if that didn’t sum it up, Dungy responded to a few of the concerned users on X. One individual presented a false dichotomy between Harris and former President Donald Trump. Dungy replied that his post wasn’t about Trump, Harris, or Republican and Democrat, but about first and foremost being pro-life.
I guess you didn’t see my post last week when I said Donald Trump could not have read Florida Amendment 4 very carefully when he said he was going to vote “Yes” on it.

“I love what you stand for coach. But how do you support someone like Trump?” another X user asked the former coach. “I have never seen post from you criticizing him.”
Dungy responded, “I guess you didn’t see my post last week when I said Donald Trump could not have read Florida Amendment 4 very carefully when he said he was going to vote ‘Yes’ on it.”
In a post made on Sept. 11, Dungy stated that he had no candidate of choice.
I don’t have a candidate. I speak for the Lord.
