I’m about to tell you something that might just blow your mind. Did you know there’s such a thing as a pro-life Democrat? I know what you’re thinking. I must be talking about some sort of mythical creature like a unicorn, something I read in a fantasy novel or something, right? Nope. There really are pro-life Democrats. At least one, anyway. And while being pro-life and a Democrat is not impossible, it really is very inconsistent with the rest of the ideology that the Democratic Party pushes, so one has to wonder how a person with such a stance on the issue manages to navigate the waters of the left.
According to a new report from The Christian Post, pro-life Democrat Terris Bukovinac, who is running for president, aired an anti-abortion ad on the “Today” show earlier this week in an attempt to raise awareness about the sick and twisted nature of late-term abortion.
Bukovinac, who founded the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising and is also the former president of Democrats for Life, posted on X Tuesday that her presidential campaign ad was going to air during the popular morning news program in New York City, which meant it could potentially reach an audience of more than 7 million viewers. That’s incredible.
Bukovinac vowed that the ad would expose “the graphic truth about abortion and give a voice to the victims of legal child killing.” She confirmed in a subsequent X post Wednesday that the ad aired on Wednesday as scheduled.
The ad debuted last Decemberahead of the New Hampshire Democratic presidential primary. Bukovinac begins by identifying herself as a “secular progressive activist” who “recovered the remains of these five babies” at a late-term abortion clinic in Washington, D.C., as pictures of the remains of aborted full-term babies appeared on screen.
“These are the faces of a genocide supported by Joe Biden and my own Democratic Party,” she insisted as graphic images of the remains continued to appear on screen, followed by pictures of President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. She asserted that “we can provide for the working class and resist this extremism” and challenged voters to “never vote for a pro-choice Democrat again.”
Bukovinac revealed her intention to run for the Oval Office last year, doing an interview with the Christian Post where she said that she wasn’t intending to win the Democratic nomination for the presidency. Rather, she saw her campaign as a means to run ads in all the states where her name would be on the ballot. Smart thinking. That sounds like a great way to get a message out, doesn’t it?
It makes you wonder why more abortion abolitionists and pro-life advocates don’t employ the same strategy. Of course, money is probably part of that problem. Ads are costly.

“Bukovinac is not the only candidate running for president in an effort to sway public opinion on abortion by drawing attention to the barbarity of the procedure and the presumptive Democrat ticket’s support for it,” the report said. “Randall Terry, founder of the pro-life activist organization Operation Rescue, is seeking the Constitution Party’s nomination for president.”
Let’s hope the ad is effective in shaking folks awake to the horrors of abortion.
