Actor Tim Allen, most well known for his portrayal of Buzz Lightyear from the “Toy Story” franchise, isn’t someone who is intimidated by the typically Hollywood crowd when it comes to sharing his thoughts and opinions on politics and religion. The former star of “Home Improvement” has always been open about his belief in Christ, but he recently took to social media platform X to share how much he loves reading the Bible.
Allen, who refers to God as “The Builder,” stated on X that he is currently taking the time to read through the whole Bible and revealed that he’s continually amazed by the truth he finds in its pages.

Never took the time in all my years to ever read and really read the Bible. Currently almost through the Jerusalem Bible Old Testament and almost done with the Prophets. Next up to New Testament. So far amazing and not at all what I was expecting.

Not only is Allen a Christian in his personal life, but he tries to apply principles of the faith to his career in the entertainment industry. Back in 2022, the “Last Man Standing” actor went toe-to-toe with Disney + in order to make Christ apart of Christmas for the limited series, “The Santa Clauses,” which saw Allen reprise his role as Scott Calvin, or Santa Claus, from the original three films.

Speaking at an event held by The Wrap, Allen revealed religion will be a major theme in the new six-part series that began streaming that year, as Breitbart News reported. “It originally had a lot of otherworldly characters and ghosts and goblins. I said, ‘No, this is Christ-mas. Its Christ-mas. It literally is a religious holiday,’” he said. “We don’t have to blow trumpets, but I do want you to acknowledge it — that’s what this is about. If you want to get into Santa Claus, you’re gonna have to go back to history, and it’s all about religion.”
Here’s a thought about the Bible you may not have had before. God used human authors who speak the human language to communicate truth to us, so that we could have a relationship with Him and know the path to salvation. In other words, he incarnated the Bible, or The Word of God so we could understand Him.
Jesus is called The Word of God. He is God incarnate in human flesh, revealing who God is through His words and actions. Christ Himself said that those who wanted to know what the Father was like only had to get to know Him, Jesus, as He was the express image of the invisible God. So the Word of God revealed the Creator to us, just as the Bible does. Both are the Word of God.
Interesting, right?
I say all of that to say that Allen’s experience with reading the Bible is a common one for believers. We might read the Word of God cover-to-cover several times a year, but it never gets old. The Holy Spirit reveals fresh new applications of truth each time we read it. It’s simply amazing that way.
