Former President Donald Trump shared how much he respects Christians just ahead of the 2024 presidential election during a campaign speech, calling them “the most important people.” The 45th president has really focused a great deal on campaigning for the votes of Christ followers, who are extremely fed up with radical leftism and the Democratic Party’s constant assault on their values with policies that support the murder of pre-born children in the womb and transgenderism.
Trump’s comments were made during a talk at the National Faith Summit held in Powder Springs, Georgia. During the event, the former president gave Christians a ton of praise and then called out the left for how they have treated believers in recent times. He said that Democrats are “trying to hurt you; they’re trying to stymie you.” He also urged those in the audience to rally voters in their communities to cast their ballots for him and fight against the left’s mistreatment of people of faith.
Here’s more from The Christian Tribune:
Asserting that religious freedom faces a “serious threat” he stated, “We can’t let that happen because I really believe it’s, it’s sort of the fabric of our country. It’s a thing that holds our country together and we can’t lose it and we’re not gonna lose it. We’re not gonna lose it.” Trump further said, “I think this is a country that needs religion. It’s like the glue that holds it together and we don’t have that. That’s why you are the most important people and I’m not sure you even realize it.”
Trump’s comments follow immense backlash against Vice President Kamala Harris after she appeared to mock Christians protestors at a rally of hers in Wisconsin. After one of them proclaimed “Christ is King,” the vice president said, “Oh you guys are at the wrong rally.” Following this incident, Donald Trump’s Instagram account weighed in on the incident, stating, “While Kamala said that people who believe in Jesus don’t belong to her rallies, in our Movement — We love Christians, we welcome believers, and we embrace followers of Jesus.”
Furthermore, Republican Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance voiced his support toward the Christian faith. “I want to talk particularly to people faith, because I know we got a lot of Catholics here, and, you know, I don’t talk a whole lot about my faith, because, you know, sometimes you just talk about other things. You talk about public policy. But I’m certainly a very devout Christian, and I was actually baptized for the first time in 2019 I returned to my faith as a as a young man, got baptized,” Vance said.
“And I say this as as a as a Christian, as a person who was baptized for the first time just a few years ago. There is something really bizarre with Kamala Harris’s anti Christian rhetoric and anti Christian approach to public policy,” Vance added, just before a person in the crowd shouted, “Jesus is King,” making a reference to the Kamala Harris rally controversy. Vance responded, “That’s right, Jesus is King.”
Trump’s running mate then delivered yet another knockout blow to Harris’ extremist left-wing agenda by saying, “Remember, Kamala Harris has supported suing Catholic nuns to force them to force them to perform procedures that violate their conscience.” That, ladies and gentlemen, is a violation of the First Amendment, which enshrines our God-given right to express and live out our Christian faith and morals without being forced to participate in activities, like baby murder, that violate our beliefs.

“I think that’s ridiculous. I think we’re a big enough country where we can actually respect the right of people of faith to live according to their conscience and not try to force Kamala Harris’ progressive values down their throat,” Vance continued, making it clear if Trump wins, the two of them will ensure Christians’ rights are protected.
