Recent reports have indicated that Christian voters are coming out in favor of former President Donald Trump in a big, big way as the 2024 presidential election quickly draws near. A study that was produced by the Pew Research Center has revealed the majority of both Catholics and Protestants in the U.S. are backing Trump in November. Hey! Look at that! Something Catholics and Protestants agree on. It only took 500 years, but we finally made a first step toward ecumenism. Who knew Trump would play a role in reconciliation?
That definitely was not on my 2024 bingo card.
I’m joking of course, but the truth remains that Trump is appealing to people of faith in big ways, which is critical for him to achieve victory in his final showdown with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Here’s more from The Christian Tribune:
The study polled just under 10,000 U.S. adults over the past several weeks and analyzed voting preferences among religious groups. Reportedly, 52% of Catholics plan to support Trump, while 47% plan on voting for Vice President Harris. Among Protestants, 61% support former President Trump, and just 37% support Harris. However, Harris dominates the polling among other religious demographics. The vice president has 65% of the Jewish vote, 68% of the religiously unaffiliated, 85% of atheists, 78% of agnostics, and 59% of other voters who identify as “nothing in particular.”
Trump has campaigned hard with Christian voters, vowing to represent their interests if reelected. The Christian Tribune has reportedextensively on the former president’s promises to Christian voters, where he has also warned about the threat the radical left poses to the faith.
“Kamala Harris and the radical left have waged war on America’s faith community since the day they took office. Her selection of Governor Tim Walz as her Vice-Presidential nominee solidifies their commitment to intensifying those efforts. Ben Carson, a man of unwavering faith, is the perfect person to work with leaders of the faith community on behalf of the campaign to promote the protection of religious freedom and prosperity in our country. Nobody was a bigger champion for the faith community than me, and I look forward to working with Ben Carson to fight back against Kamala Harris’ war on faith and making America great again in November,” the former president went on to say in a recent press release.

Earlier this year, Trump warned believers in Christ that there would be a massive, ongoing attack against Christianity that would be led by the modern-day left-wing culture. He wasn’t all doom-and-gloom, however. He also stated he believed Christianity would then make a huge comeback if he takes the White House in November.
“They’re against religion. They’re against your religion. In particular, you cannot vote for Democrats, and you have to get out and vote. We have to defend religious liberty, free speech, innocent life, and the heritage and tradition that built America into the greatest nation in the history of the world. But now we are, as you know, a declining nation. And I might add, we are a seriously declining nation, seriously, seriously and so said, I know that each of you is protecting those values every day,” Trump stated.
“I hope we’ll be defending them side by side for your next four years. These are going to be your years, because you’re going to make a comeback like just about no other group. I know what’s happening. I know where you’re coming from and where you’re going, and I’ll be with you side by side. So again, thank you once again for everything you do. And you have to get out and vote. Our religious leaders have to get their incredible people that love them so much and respect them so much. Have to get them out to vote,” the former president aid, placing an emphasis on how important it is for Republicans to actually ensure they get out, vote, and let their voices be heard.
